Company History

WorldWise Marine was originally founded in the late 70's under the name MARMAN, as the internal brokerage division of the Wijsmuller Group. Throughout the following years, the company successfully operated under this name, building a worldwide client network in shipbrokerage.

Management buy-out

In the year 2001, the complete Wijsmuller Group -with a fleet consisting over 140 tugs worldwide- was taken over by Svitzer (part of the A.P. Moller Group). Little time later the brokerage division choose independency through a management buy-out, in cooperation with in-house ship design division Wijsmuller Engineering.

The brokerage division was renamed WorldWise Marine Brokers and the engineering divsion is nowadays active under the name Offshore Ship Designers. Working closely together, both companies cultivate the advantage of having commercial and engineering knowledge under the same roof.
