His grandfather was a tug master, his father spent many years working in tugs and harbour craft and he himself spent eighteen years working on tugs before moving ashore to run IJmuiden-based Iskes Towing & Salvage BV.

    RMK Marine Shipyard in Tuzla, Turkey, succesfully delivers the third 60 tonnes BP ASD Tug. The third of four 60 tonne BP tugs for Turkish owners has been delivered from Turkey’s RMK yard. Designed by WorldWise Marine, the vessels T Damla 1 - 4 will enter service at the Izmir and Izmit terminals.

    Six Primus and Port Said class tugs to be built WorldWise Marine’s successful Primus design for a versatile 100 tonne BP anchor handling tug will be used for a further two tugs to be built at Mützelfeldt werft in Germany for Harms Bergung. A further four of the similar Port Said design will be built at Daewoo-Mangalia Heavy Industries in Romania.

    Zero emission tug speeds up! Development work on the design for a near-zero emission hydrogen powered tug has been speeded up with the intention of getting the first vessel into service within two years.     Port Said Shipyard in Port Said, Egypt has delivered the Anchor Handling Tug Port Said to the owner, the Suez Canal Autohorities (SCA). Port Said Shipyard has realised this project in cooperation with MAN Ferrostaal AG in Essen, Germany. The results of the sea trials were satisfactory.

    Towage Flushing - Le Havre Early October the towage of rivervessel "Bonava" departed from Flushing (The Netherlands) to Fos Sur Mer (France). On behalf of the owner of the rivervessel, CFT, WWMB fixed the Swedish tug "Frigga" (26t BP) to perform this towage.

    Charter Tug and Barge for Mammoet Salvage On behalf of Mammoet Salvage, WorldWise Marine brokers fixed the charter of a barge together with an assisting Tug. The barge was picked up in Norway by the chartered Tug SALUS and brouht to Rotterdam, where the required equipment will be fitted onto the barge.

As for 2007, WWMB already fixed 3 doubletows from The Netherlands to Le Havre and two voyages to Marseille. In most cases WWMB also arranges a roundtrip, which includes towages back from Black sea and Med Sea with direction Western Europe.

    Towage Shanghai - Netherlands The Suhaili, an ITC tug, safely carried out a double tow, fixed by Worldwise Marine, of two new building hulls (container feeder vessels) from Shanghai to Delfzijl, the Netherlands. The voyage took a total of 73 days via Suez Canal.

    WWMB fixed the tow of another unfinished vesselhull, underway from Gorkum to Lemmer This time the tow was entrusted to van der Wees Transporten, using the “En Avant 5”of Muller Zwaar Transport and a pushboats of Van der Wees and the Broedertrouw XVI. The picture was taken our office from the Felison Terminal in Ijmuiden, giving a good view from the 7th floor.
